Dude Looks Like a Lady
I spent most of the afternoon yesterday in and around the Sheffield Garden Walk where Nat and I didn't do all that much gawkin' at the gardens, rather, we mostly stood around and drank keg beer (with ice!) out of red Solo cups. I spent quite a bit of time by myself (as usual) as Nat flittered around and played "flippey cup" with the others. If you've never been down there, it's pretty interesting. The party were were at was right on Sheffield, just south of Dickens. The parties pour out from the front porches to the parkways and sidewalks. This year it seemed that Cornhole has finally arrived in the Lincoln Park Dude Scene. I spent most of my time on the front porch (which was prime people watching). I was having my own personal Go Fug Yourself with all the passers-by. (Nat says that I'm not in any position to be critiquing anyone's 'drobe...she's probably right).
Getting back the porch...it was great people watching, but it was
awful in that I had to put up with everyone's music. The folks across
the street musta had Aerosmith's Greatest Hits
on the ole ipod because there was 6 straight Aerosmith cuts. After
"Back in the Saddle" came on (and some dudes were rockin'), I finally
had enough. I went across the street, went up on the porch and asked
if they had anything else in the collection. I've had enough
Aerosmith. That may not have been the best idea I've ever had.
Sure enough...they put on Eagles: Hell Freezes Over. Teaches me not to tangle with the beast, eh?

that reminds me -- there were three or four cornhole sets in full-swing at the White Sox game Saturday night. Not that the Southside hasn't been in on the cornhole thing longer than anyone on the Northside has (guaranteed), but it's first time I've seen the game in play at a Sox tailgate. Indiana has finally exported a pastime to the north beyond just Euchre!
